When I am not at the office or at the studio, I listen to classical music on the radio a lot. I’m really fascinated by some compositions, its parts and how they sometimes remind me of modern song structures like breaks, verses, refrains, bridges and hooks.

I regularly catch myself listening to older music with something like sample-focussed-ears. In Offenbach's „La course en traîneau“ I had this „I-need-to-sample-it-moment“ at one part of the piece from 1849. In this period, Offenbach used to give mostly solo concerts. So it’s a very reduced piece, since it’s written for piano and cello only, but feels very driving, playful and pushing.

I worked with the sample and the resulting track for a long time every once in a while. Now you can listen to it here and get your free download on Hypeddit for just some digital love.
